12 February 2005

Went for Legion meeting in the morning. Came home to do my homework. Went to watch Constantine with Pet, Robin, Winson and Angela. Whoa! The action was really good. I like the firearms! But the Catholicism presented in the show is not to be taken seriously. For example, Constantine is not an ordained priest, therefore he has no power to administer the Anointing of the Sick. But then again, since when do you anoint half-breed devils? And it is true when they say suicide is a mortal sin. So kids, treasure your lives and don’t kill yourself!!!

Came home at eleven something in the night.

13 February 2005

Went for Mass in the morning. Went to Chinatown to eat lunch with family. Some dim sum shop. Crappy service. My Dad asked them to replenish the teapot 3 times but to no avail. And the last item took so long that we cancelled it and left. Not before paying, of course. Went for Curia at St Peter and Paul after that. Went to Billy Bomber’s after that at Bugis. I just had a drink. Gee, the prices are really crazy… But at least the portions are good! Played an hour of LAN games with Eugene after that. We spent half and hour trying to figure out how to add bots for Battlefield Vietnam. It’s really a good game, you ought to try it. Went home for dinner after that.

14 February 2005

St Valentine’s Day. Did I go out on any dates? Yeah, I was supposed to have tea with my practical reports but I slept the whole day.

15 February 2005

Spent the afternoon sleeping once again. Did my reports at night.

16 February 2005

School ended at 2 pm. Attempted to do my reports. Went to IHM for mass at 6 pm. Went to see the French priest for confession. Father Jeannequin. His advice today was, “Do your best.” It was for some specific matter, which I will not state what. But I think I can apply that to my life now. In your studies, do your best. In your ministry, do your best. In your cca, do your best. In your love life (yes.), do your best.

17 February 2005

Bombarded by SMS messages in the morning. “No School Today!” they said. So I went back to sleep. Wasted a lot of time today. Never finished any homework. Which is due on Friday. Haha. Instead, I spent my time reading some old novels. What a distraction.

I was lying in my bed and thinking of before. I was trying to recall someone from my childhood. I wonder what happened to her. Hell, I can’t even remember her name. A pity really.

18 February 2005

Never did much work. Went to school at 4 pm. Failed my biostatistics class test, needless to say. You should have seen the look on the bastard’s face. “I don’t know what is this. You better buck up ok?” Yah yah I get the drift. Oh, in case you didn’t know, the Biostatistics tutorial fellow calls himself ‘bastard’. Fine by me. Went for CL meeting at 6.30 pm. There was Mass and Stations of the Cross after that.

19 February 2005

Went for Legion meeting. I was actually happy to wake up so early. Must be because I was waking up so late in the previous days. I think I’m going to flunk this common test. One look at the organic chemistry notes and my head is already switched off. It’s going to be worse for the rest. I’m starting to think that I’ve taken the wrong course. Ah damn, it’s too late to regret anyway. I’ll just carry this cross till mid 2007 (assuming I don’t retain) and be done with it. So much for trying my best. =P

Happy Chinese New Year to all!

9 February 2005

Went visiting today! Mainly my relatives’ places. Collected an ample amount of ang baos. Goody. Once again, I comtemplated on my non-existent command of Chinese dialect. Poor me.

Finally finished reading George Orwell’s 1984. Goodness, it is such a depressing book. If I weren’t Catholic, I would have killed myself by jumping off the building. I really felt like doing so, but it would be wrong to do so. George Orwell certainly got the message across! What message? That is, if we do not take action against totalitarian goverments, then the future will be bleak and lacking of any hope. Just like in the book. Angels preserve us!

Lol I was reading the newspaper on that day or the day before. It said something about the Communist rebels in the Philippines conducting a gay ‘marriage’. Wahahah, Stalin must be rolling non-stop like a roast pig in his grave… The persecutors of homosexuals finally approved of them at last. Then again, it once again only proves how godless Communism is. There is no such thing as gay ‘marriage’. What is Marriage? It is a union between MAN and WOMAN. Did you get that?

Damn communists! They slaughtered our Christian brothers, both Catholic and Protestant. Then again…. they slaughtered everybody! Mao Zedong and his cronies killed our Legionary comrades in China, and sent them to the concentration camps! They killed our brother priests and sister nuns! Even to this very day! And they even created false churches to mislead and cheat the true believers of Christ, while attempting to destroy the church of the true believers. Pray for the total conversion of China and for a peaceful overthrow of the Communist government in China!

Lol, I hope I don’t sound like a Communist.

10 February 2005

Went visiting again! This time we went to my parents’ friends’ places. Went to Joshua’s place in the afternoon. I made a profit of $0.80 at the blackjack session. Ha ha ha… Went to Pet’s place in the evening. There were a few Legion people there. Robin, Winson, Angela and Selene. It was funny watching them play Sims 2 on the PC. Extremely comical. You ought to try it one day!

Robin, Pet, Winson, Angela and I went to Swensen’s for ice cream after that. Went to Starbucks for Coffee after that. Winson did not join us. He had school on Friday. Spent a good amount of time chatting. Alamak, today spent so much money. Never mind, I still have ang pao money. Reached home real late. Twelve something.

11 February 2005

Attempted to finish some practical reports. Talked to Cerelia on MSN again. It seemed to be a fruitful conversation. I’ll be praying for you, sister. Lol, it’s Ash Friday today. But wait a minute? Isn’t there supposed to be an Ash Wednesday? There’s no such thing as Ash Friday! Yeah, but Ash Wednesday clashes with Chinese New Year. Would you like to have fast and abstinence on Lunar New Year? I say Nay! So the Bishops’ Conference of Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei have shifted Ash Wednesday to Friday. That way you could still eat your ba kwa and love letters on Wednesday. Good eh?

Hymn: What a friend we have in Jesus

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
	all our sins and griefs to bear!
	What a privilege to carry
	everything to God in prayer!
	O what peace we often forfeit,
	O what needless pain we bear,
	all because we do not carry
	everything to God in prayer.

2.	Have we trials and temptations?
	Is there trouble anywhere?
	We should never be discouraged;
	take it to the Lord in prayer.
	Can we find a friend so faithful
	who will all our sorrows share?
	Jesus knows our every weakness;
	take it to the Lord in prayer.

3.	Are we weak and heavy laden,
	cumbered with a load of care?
	Precious Savior, still our refuge;
	take it to the Lord in prayer.
	Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
	Take it to the Lord in prayer!
	In his arms he'll take and shield thee;
	thou wilt find a solace there.

A Legionary speaks with Crusader

I was talking to Cerelia over MSN in the wee hours of the morning, for a very long time. She had a lot of questions about our faith, so I was more than happy to answer them. I never knew her to be Christian, and to be from Campus Crusade for Christ. I was very, very surprised. Great, I finally managed to converse with one of them.

Due to the sensitive nature of the matter, I will not speak too much of it. For the standing instruction of the Legion of Mary states,

“Fourth, absolute respect for the confidential nature of many matters discussed at the meeting or learned in connection with the legionary work.” – Chapter 18, Order of the Praesidium Meeting, Legion of Mary Handbook.

I am happy that I was able to clear some of her doubts about our faith, and to educate her a bit in certain issues. But I think I got a bit carried away, and as a result left a lot of untied ropes. I guess I’ll leave that for another day.

Perhaps I have been too critical of Protestants in during my sharing. Perhaps I should have been more charitable in my choice of language. I am sorry if I have ever caused offence to anybody with my words.

In case you all didn’t know, I’m with the Legion of Mary (Mandarin-speaking) of Maris Stella High School, even though I’m not studying there anymore.

Accendat in nobis Dominus ignem sui amoris, et flammam aeterne caritatis. Amen.

May the Lord enkindle in us the fire of His love and the flame of everlasting charity. Amen

Today si bei suay ah!! I’m going to fail my biostatistics quiz, because I foolishly did not study. The questions were so easy, but I could not do any of them. What a disgrace. I have to wake up my bloody idea. Then during Biochemisty practical, I destroyed Josephine’s billabong pencil case with concentrated sulphuric acid. Holy shit!! I feel very bad. Her souvenir that Yumei bought from China was also destroyed. (Keychain) Oh rats.

Then I had to print my Biochem report. I took bloody 2 hours just to print 2 pages of report. Firstly, the file was corrupted but I didn’t know. So I queued up at the printing shop for 10 minutes only to find out that I couldn’t print shit. I went back to the computer lab to redo my work, then went back again to the shop. I queued for another 10 minutes. I couldn’t get my stuff even though I clicked print. This joker in front of me, somehow managed to print 3 copies instead of 1. And one copy consists of 30 plus pages! He was arguing with the lady anyhow, so the shop woman reset the print queue, which included my file! So there was I like a fool waiting for money to drop from the sky, but to no avail. So, I had to print it again. Horrible waste of time. And I realised to forgot to add in my Lab Sheet. Damn, looks like I’m going to fail now.
– _-”

Anyway, there was this school visit by some Gifted program students. I was taking some RI people. Wah lan eh, they are worse then primary 5 kids, and they are bloody sec four? I liked the St Gabriels’ people I took last time better. Bah….

I went to church after that. I was supposed to go for mass, but couldn’t make it on time. Attended the Novena to the Sacred Heart. Spent about an hour in the Adoration room after that. I felt very peaceful when I was in there. Very happy, very relaxing.

Had CL at 2000h. Went to eat dinner with my brother and Joshua at Jalan Kayu after that. Came home at 2330h.

I had some terrible discovery about the concert band today. God?! Politics again? It seems like everywhere we go, it’s there?! Arghhhh!!!!! No wonder my section doesn’t seem to interact with the others that much. Perhaps they do not want to get involved.
